| Updated: 7/18/2011 12:43 P.M. Hello, everyone! I left Patchogue to attend SUNY Binghamton, where I got a BA, major in music. I always liked to play with other people, which is much more fun, so I then went to the University of Cincinnati, where I got an MM in Accompanying. It is now called "Collaborative Piano." I got married in 1973 to Andrew Loewy, MD of Sydney, Australia. Rebecca was born in 1974, and Alison in 1977. I became an adjunct faculty member at CCM (UC) in 1976. Flip forward a few years...I do a lot of coaching of singers (classical), and was lucky enough to finally make my NY city performing debut in 2000, at the age of 51! Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months before that February concert, and performed my debut while undergoing chemotherapy. Ironic, yes? I have since had a very successful career playing recitals all over the country, and a few times at Carnegie Hall! Yes, I practiced! Still teaching ...now, finally, full time (while some of you are happily retired!) My husband is still in private practice in internal medicine, and still likes it, too! Update on our children: Ali, who majored in physics at UC and Boston U, is married to a physicist, and is the mother of 17-month-old Nate, and they are having another little baby boy in October. Nate was born while they lived in Berlin. Now they are in Yorktown, VA. Her husband, Dru is at the Jefferson Lab, where he specializes in lattice physics. Rebecca, who majored in psychology at UC and became a lawyer at BU, worked in law in Chicago for a couple of years. She became a sommelier, at my suggestion, and has been working in the wine business for about 5 years. She is married to Todd, who is a photographer and wine enthusiast, and they are expecting their first child (a boy!) at the end of November. (that will make a total of 3 grandchildren for us in 2 years!..all boys!) I am so glad that Facebook has helped us connect..and look forward to seeing many of you soon. UPDATE: 2023. Ali's boys are 13 and 11, living and working in Los Alamos, NM. Ali teaches physics at Los Alamos High School, and husband Dru work at Los A National Laboratory. Rebecca's son is 11, and she is still in the wine business, no longer married. Andrew and I are still working, and thriving! We have a 3 year old cockapoo named Izzy, and still live in Cincinnati. Thanks, Ted, for making this website. |
