I just spotted the famous "Pitcher". Stainless steel, I hope, but possibly aluminum. Philip was many times asked to "Phil up the water pitcher".

This picture is as good as any to comment on the climate in southern Oregon. The winters are so wet that moss grows on the ax handles; the summers so dry that if you sneeze you can start a fire.

Thios photo is quite early on. Notice the garden has not been expanded downhill and you can see, dimly, a hot water heater that served as a reservoir for water that fot warm during the day and we could take showers in the late afternoon and not have to deal with cod water. I would put this as the summer of '69.

The Ohming actually had its origins, in my opinion, with the meeting of August first in the meadow above Joe the Flutemaker's house. That is where Larry Barbara Betty and I met for the first time and spoke to each other. The conversation began after an Ohming session participated in by more than 50 people. Larry also played his drums. After that day we started going to where Larry & Barbara were living and eating dinner there. That is where we began to do it. As with everything else there was no edict, no real conversation as I remember... it all happenned... organically.

GOsh, this is an amazing website..I am currently writing a book about a commune and if anyone has any help, or pictures, or info...anything...it would be great! Also, if anyone knows of any communes now, let me know...living like you all lived is such a respectful and heartfelt way to live, and raise children in! Melissa
