Top six are diffinately Andy, Big Sam, Peter, Me(Barry), JAF, Joel. Sam and I were both 19 that year and that was easily the best time of my young life. To see Larry playing the toblas and remembering all the music and chanting in the old kitchen,it was truly amazing. For those who don't remember me, I could usually be found working on the BEAST or on wood runs, two of my favorite things. I also enjoyed setting on my bunk, next to the heater in the lodge before it became the kitchen, listening to music and talking with all my friends and "family". So many beautiful times to charish. I will always think of "the claim" as my favorite place that I have ever lived. Peace and Love, still works for me, Barry

I called this "the summer of 90" because we had about 90 living there, with a turnover rate of about five a day. As I recall, the grass on the paths began to look mighty thin ... not that we were grazing on it, mind you....

my friend and i are thinking about starting something like a commune but my familly is very traditional and doesn't want me to do it. what can i do to make them think differently, do u think?

From:     Ted     9/14/2002     9:15 A.M.

Probably nothing, BagelGirl. Would you like someone to make youthink differently?
Let it be.
Make a commune in your own mind.
Make the various personalities within you live in harmony and I bet a commune will miraculously grow like a seed somewhere on this physical plane.
Be yourself.

For those who were wondering about a good place to start a commune. I would have to suggest washington state, near yakima, or on its outskirts. There is excellent farmland, mild winters, and good people. It is neer seattle so that any craft or organic food can be sold there.(large market for that). People raise all sorts of animals here, and the area is full of orchards. land can be perchased cheap, there might not be indoor plumbing on the land that is farther out. it is just land, if your lucky there is probaly a stream on it that water can be purified from. You wanted AUTHENTIC. most have buildings that are old. I like to call it heaven!!!also the land around here isn't completely spoiled. feel free to e-mail me with questions or comments. and don't worry, im not a real estate agent.:)

The composition is all wrong. All the men should be standing and all the ladies should be naked and on all fours. I shall take the next photo and will then proceed to crash at yours for a couple of weeks. You will tend to my every needs and make the most of my stay. When I choose to leave your humble dwelling, you will weep gently and tell me what fantastic fun you have had over the past two weeks. I will then inform you of my return which will be schedueled for around 9 Months.
Best regards,
Benjamin.
I will love you always.

I was living at Sunnyridge when this picture was taken, I have a younger brother who was born around the same time. I can't tell if I'm in pix or not but remember this area wher photo was taken. My name is Dewey Fanti, mother name Barbara. I also notice the pix of New Paltz, I graduated from N.P. Class of 82, I'm now 42 years old, I live in North Carolina and trying to figure some of these conections from the past.
